Lynnette Taylor
Lynnette Taylor, age 69, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Madison, passed away at her home under hospice care on September 26, 2024.
Memorial service will be at 1 PM on Thursday, October 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Lindley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.
Lynnette was born on June 30, 1955 in Arcata, CA to William “Bill” and Bev (Dahl) Alfson. Lynnette grew up in Madison, SD and graduated from Madison High School, where she was a cheerleader and in the band. She later received a finance degree from Dakota State University. Lynnette loved playing sports and one of her main passions was playing softball.
Lynnette married Jim Keppen of Madison, SD and had two children, Jeff and Dusty. She later married William (Bill) Taylor of Madison, SD and enjoyed a 25-year marriage. Lynnette and Bill loved living at the lake, their two dogs- Sampson and Colby, and spending time with their family and friends.
In Madison, Lynnette was Bank President at Interlakes/Dakotaland Federal Credit Union for many years and retiring in 2016. She was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as a board member.
After Bill’s passing and retiring, in 2017 Lynnette relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to her sons and their families. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities and sporting events. During her time in Georgia, Lynnette made many great friends- including her neighbors, the Brookhaven Ladies group, and the Cool Pool Group. These groups enjoyed lunches, playing cards, and margarita nights.
Lynnette is survived by her son, Jeff (Jenny) Keppen of Atlanta, GA; stepdaughter, Sara Skok of Plymouth, MN; and daughter-in-law, Theresa Keppen of Roswell, GA; grandchildren, Anna Clare, Flynn, Westin, Waverley, and Liam; Siblings, Alan (Lori) Alfson, Mitchell Alfson, Jayme (Rebecca) Trygstad, Taleesia Heppler, Kevin (Julie) Heppler, Marcus (Cindy) Heppler, and Jerome Heppler; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Taylor; son, Dustin “Dusty” Keppen; daughter in infancy; father and stepmother, William “Bill” and Dee Alfson; mother and stepfather, Bev and Dean Trygstad; and son-in-law, Michael Skok.
