Lois A. Swanson

Lois A. Swanson, 70, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Sanford Centennial Cottage.  A graveside service will begin at 11 am on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Spencer Cemetery in Spencer, SD.  A time of fellowship will follow at the Spencer Event Center.

Lois Ann Krueger was born February 28, 1954 in Mitchell, SD to Elmer and LaMarne (Higgins) Krueger.  She grew up in the Spencer area and graduated from Spencer High School.  She then attended Sioux Valley School of Nursing in Sioux Falls and earned her LPN degree.  She went on to work as a nurse for over 40 years in Arizona, Rapid City and at Sanford in Sioux Falls.  On June 11, 1994 she married Bruce Swanson.

Lois enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and taking care of plants, especially succulents.  She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids.

Lois is survived by: her husband, Bruce of Sioux Falls; daughter, Ashley (Jeremiah) Johnson of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Grace, Gabriel and Clare; siblings, Marilyn (Lonnie) Johnson of Arlington, SD, Richard (Marcia) Krueger of Spencer, SD, Mary Jo (Steve) Norfolk of Sioux Falls, SD, and Joan (Dan) Ehlke of Canova, SD and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and LaMarne Krueger, her mother and father-in-law, Byron and Marzella Swanson and sisters-in-law, Sandi, Sue and Kay.
