Linda Hoenscheid, 77, of Spencer, SD passed away surrounded by her family on June 13, 2021 at her home.  A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, June 18 at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.  Visitation with family present will begin at 4:30 pm.  A reception will follow at the Spencer Event Center, 620 Cordo St, Spencer, SD.

Linda Eggers was born on August 5, 1943 to Wilbert and Elsie (Kobernusz) Eggers in Spencer, SD.  She graduated from Spencer High School and went on to get a degree from Nettleton College.  She married Dale Hoenscheid on February 24, 1968.  She was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.  Linda and Dale lived in the Salem/Spencer area all their lives.  Linda worked as a homemaker for many years.  She worked outside of the home at Ravens in Salem, as a CNA at Colonial Manor in Salem and Firesteel in Mitchell, waitressed at Pleasant Acres and Dakota House in Salem, and also sold Avon for 30 years.

Linda enjoyed gardening and canning, playing cards with her friends, traveling to casinos, and she especially loved enjoying a strawberry milkshake with her family after her recent treatments.

Linda is survived by:  her husband, Dale of Spencer;  children, Diana Klueber (Jim) of Coon Rapids, MN, Rhonda Hoenscheid (Daryl) of Elk River, MN, Jeffrey Hoenscheid of Salem, SD, Paula Okerstrom of Coon Rapids, MN and LeAnn Sowden (Matthew) of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Shawna and Tasha Klueber, Jason Hoenscheid, Rebecca Okerstrom, and Ella, Lucy and Cain Sowden; sisters, Rosella Nelson of Salem, SD, Francis Kniep of Lincoln, NE and Nancy Eggers of Eden Prairie, MN; sister-in-law, DiAnne Brown (Jerry) of Tucumcari, NM; niece, Jean Brown, David City, NE; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marna Dahmen and brother Lyle Eggers.
