Leanne E. Rotert, 77, of Sioux Falls passed away on September 24, 2019 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. Funeral mass will begin at 11 am on Friday, September 27 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday with a prayer service to begin at 7 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
Leanne Byington was born on October 10, 1941 in Bridgewater, SD to Stanley and LaVonne (Kunkel) Byington. She graduated from Bridgewater High School and went on to graduate from Stewarts School of Hair Design and attend a year at Southeast Technical College. Leanne married Vince Rotert on September 3, 1962 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Bridgewater. They lived in Salem until moving to Sioux Falls in 1975. While in Salem, Leanne and Vince owned Pleasant Acres where Leann worked as evening cook. She was then head cook at Cathedral in Sioux Falls for many years and also spent 5 years working at Western Surety. She loved gardening and flowers and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
Leanne is survived by: her husband, Vince of Sioux Falls; children, Joan (Steve) Roberts of Columbus, OH, Tom (Susan) of Harrisburg, SD, Jon (Monica) of Bridgewater, SD, Deb Moschell of Sioux Falls, SD and Chad (Tonya) of Sioux Falls; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
