Larry Terwilliger

Larry Terwilliger, 62, of Winfred passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at his home.  Funeral services will begin at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 14 at the United Church of Christ in Winfred, SD. Visitation with family present will begin at 1 pm.  Burial will follow the funeral service at the Winfred Cemetery.

Larry Todd Terwilliger was born on January 18, 1962 to Kenneth and Janice (Westall) Terwilliger in Madison, SD.  He graduated from Madison High School in 1981.  Larry married Jane Torkelson on August 6, 2011.  He farmed all his life.  He was often heard saying “All I want to do is farm”.  He also served as the farm and family mechanic—if Larry couldn’t fix it, no one could!  He enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, but most of all, he loved his grandkids and giving them rides on tractors, four-wheelers, or anything he could drive.

Larry is survived by: his wife, Jane; children, Emily (Jacob) Aus and their children, Landry, Lilly and Micah; Leslie (Colby) Orts; Rodney (Melissa) Lorenz and their daughter, Josie; Keith Lorenz; Derek (Ashten) Lorenz and their children, Edan and Landan; James Lorenz; Jordan (Tori) Lorenz and their son, Hudson; his mother, Janice Terwilliger; his siblings, Donna (Ron) Runge, Dale (Cindy) Terwilliger, Susan (Dennis) Slaughter, Steve (Shelley) Terwilliger, and Linda (Steve) Wicks; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Kathy Terwilliger.
