Larry Dale Madsen, 73 of Arlington died, Monday, October 11, 2021 at his rural farm home.

Larry Dale Madsen was born January 6, 1948 to Dale and Allene (Mohror) Madsen.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Larry attended grade school at Laketon District #40 and graduated from Arlington High School in 1966.

On December 30, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart Dianne Stensgaard and to this union 2 sons were born.

the couple made their home in the Twin Cities where Larry worked for North Star Steel for 37 years.

In 2005 after retiring, they moved back to a small acreage north of Arlington, where they were living at the time of his death.

Larry served on the church council at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #42.  Larry was very proud of his 17 classmates who served in Viet Nam and all returned safely home.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, working in his yard and going on cruises with his family. One of Larry’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his granddaughters.

Larry is survived by his wife, Dianne, his two sons, Troy (Deb) and Wade (Wanda) of Cottage Grove, MN; his granddaughter Mariah and fiancee Tyler Hiller of Roberts, WI and Page of Cottage Grove, Mn.  His three brothers, Bob of Black Hawk, SD, Paul (Jennice) of Brookings and David (Carla) of Arlington, SD, two aunts, Verlie Madsen of Estelline, SD and Betty Mohror of Watertown, SD and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael and Mark.
