Judy Hanson

Judy Hanson, age 75, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 26th at Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Colman City Cemetery.

Judy Elizabeth Hanson was born August 2, 1949. She grew up around the Colman area until she was 10 years old and moved between Sioux Falls & Hartford. Judy married Dennis Hanson on September 10, 1966. She moved to Madison in the mid-1960s and stayed at home caring for her children. When the kids were older, she began working at Raven where she worked for many years.

Judy loved to play games and being with her family, jigsaw puzzles, sudoku and crosswords puzzles, flower gardening and she also would refurbish old antiques.

Judy is survived by one son-Brad (Lisa) of Sioux Falls; two daughters-Dori (Jason) Gill of Leola, SD and Kari (Bruce) Shover of Madison; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother-David Rosenwald of Hills, MN; two sisters-Lila Heng and Rose Garness both of Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
