Joyce Colby

Joyce Colby, 96, a former Arlington resident died, Thursday, May 14, 2020 at The Neighborhoods at Brookview in Brookings, SD surrounded by her family.

Joyce Helen Dahl was born December 1, 1923 in Arlington, SD to Henry and Harriet “Anna” (O’Leary) Dahl.  She grew up in the Arlington area and attended school near Arlington.  Joyce worked at the White Spot in Brookings until eventually owning the business.  She than sold it and worked at the Brookings Country Club, Tomahawk and Willmar Golf Course, where she loved all her customers.  She retired and moved to Volga.

Joyce is survived by her son Jim (Julie) Colby,  grandchildren, Bobby (Valerie) Knutson, Hollie (Josh) Moldenhauer, Jamie (Susan) Colby, Scott Colby, Ashley (Jeremy) Janssen, Kelly Stevens, six great grandchildren.  Joyce was loved by many special friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl, parents, Henry and Anna Dahl, brothers, Gene and his wife Sue and Lloyd and his wife Bev Dahl and her favorite puppies.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date due to the Covid 19 virus.
