Johnny D. Beck

Johnny D. Beck of Canova, SD, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, in his home. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. Burial will be at the Winfred Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. He was born on October 22, 1960, in Madison, SD, to Franklin D. and D’Ette (Gunderson) Beck. He graduated from Tracy High School in California and worked as a master welder at Ameron in California and later worked in Hawaii. He then settled in Salem and Canova in 1995. He worked for Feteral Manufacturing in Salem and later at Gehl in Madison. He loved his motorcycle, gambling, and having a good time.  He was well known to say, “Life is Good”.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mickey. Survivors include sisters Mary Beck of Canova, Cathleen (Oliver) Shoemaker of Sturgis, and Lynn (Steve) Denczek of Bakersfield, CA; and 5 nieces and nephews.
