Jerry McDonald, age 93, of Sioux Falls, passed away at his home on December 27, 2021. 

Funeral service will be 11 AM on Monday, January 3rd at Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM on Monday. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Badus Township. Jerald Francis McDonald was born in rural Nunda, South Dakota, January 5, 1928, to John and Mary (Lyons) McDonald.  After graduating from Rutland (SD) High School, he served 18 months in the US Army in the Japanese occupation.  After attending Iowa State University for a semester, he moved to Sioux Falls.  He married Mona Wallace in 1949 and had three children. Jerry worked for the Mobil Oil Company as a pipeline operator until retirement and built many houses and did remodeling projects in and around Sioux Falls.  Upon retirement, he enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, reading and socializing. Jerry and Pat traveled to many scenic spots in the US, Canada and even a trip to Ireland.

 
He was preceded in death by his parents and all four of his siblings, Genevieve, Richard, Bill, and Dean.

Jerry is survived by his partner for 46 years, Patricia Keleher; son, Colin (Yvonne) McDonald, daughter Toni McDonald, and son Shane (Terri) McDonald; grandchildren, Chad, Staci (Ken) Dethleusay, Conor McDonald, Logan McDonald; great-grandchildren, Reagan McDonald, Avalon McDonald, Peyton Dethleusay, and Darian McDonald and son.
