Janice Bennett

Janice Bennett, 84, of Spencer passed away on June 3, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, June 7 at Christ Lutheran Church in Salem.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Sunday at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.

Janice Bennett was born on June 3, 1937 in McCook County, SD to Wallace and Mabel (Wibben) Allen.  She grew up in the Spencer area and graduated from Spencer High School.  Janice married Dennis Bennett on May 26, 1957.  They lived in Spencer all their lives, where they raised their children.

Janice enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and playing cards.  She was a member of the McCook County Library Board and spent 10 years working in the information booth at the South Dakota Travel Center near Salem.

Janice is survived by:  her husband, Dennis of Spencer; her daughters, Tammy (Mic) Kreutzfeldt of Salem, Carmen (Craig) Bisgaard of Rapid City, and Jayme (Bryan) Sargent of Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Warren “Ike” (Mary) Allen of Bradenton, FL; sister-in-law, Cathy Allen of Spencer; and several nieces nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rodney and Gene.
