Jackson Heidelberger, age 17, of Chester, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home.

Memorial service will be 11 AM on Friday, January 28th at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Wentworth with Rev. Adam Welton officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Thursday followed by a prayer service at 8 PM all at the church. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service. A private family committal service will be in Graceland Cemetery. Online guestbook is at www.rustandweilandfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Jackson Armin Heidelberger was born September 19, 2004, in Sioux Falls, the son of Tye Heidelberger & Susan (Doss) Colby. He was currently attending Chester High School as a sophomore. His two favorite classes were choir and welding in Ag. Jackson will be remembered for his love of being outdoors, fishing, writing fiction stories and music. He enjoyed country music and other artists that most teenagers would not listen to, such as Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.

Jackson is survived by his mother, Sue (Jamie) Colby of Brookings; father, Tye Heidelberger of Chester; brother, Jacob Heidelberger of Chester; grandparents, Virginia & Leslie Heidelberger of Chester, Carolyn & Erwin Doss of Sioux Falls, Jackie & Don Behrns of Bruce, SD, Julie & Jim Colby of Volga, SD; great-grandmother, Bernice Mullett of Volga, SD and aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
