Irene (Tschetter) Hofer, age 67, peacefully passed and went to her heavenly home on December 4, 2019. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 7, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Church in Howard. Burial will follow at Cloverleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday at the church with a prayer service at 7 PM.

Irene Tschetter was born February 1, 1952, in Madison, to Paul and Rachel (Hofer) Tschetter. On September 15, 1974, Irene married the love of her life, Mike Hofer. To this union a son, Michael and two daughters Aileen and Janet were born. They lived in Howard where Irene worked at PBM for 26 years. She retired in 2016.

Irene loved spending time with her family. She never missed a family party or an opportunity to to be with the people she loved. She always showed up with homemade food with plenty to share with everyone. Irene tirelessly worked to make life enjoyable for her family. Cooking, cleaning, and shopping to keep everyone happy. Irene found great joy making Christmas treats for many and delivering her homemade goodies to bring joy to others. She attended the Calvary Assembly of God church in Howard and diligently shared her love for Christ with others.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mike; one son, Michael (Marlene) Hofer of Howard; two daughters, Aileen (Ron Wipf) of Tea, and Janet (Sam) Wollman of Worthing; eight grandchildren, Michael, Jared, Kaden, Brandon, Akeia, Ava, Samuel, and Aubrey; three sisters, Julie (Rudy) Waldner of Iroquois, Lila (Moe) Waldner of Volga, and Sarah (Wayne) Waldner of Huron; four brothers, Marvin Tschetter of Sioux Falls, Ray (Rose) Tschetter of Sioux Falls, Jerry Tschetter of Howard, and Conrad Tschetter of Howard; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Phillip, Val, Paul, and Willy; one sister, Tilly; and one sister-in-law, Emma Tschetter.
