Harley Jay Mickelson, 67, of Salem passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2024 at his home. Per his request, no services will be held.
Harley Jay Mickelson was born on June 5, 1957 to Vernon and Joann (Hill) Mickelson in Aitkin, MN. He attended school in Isle, MN and lived in Minneapolis, MN until May 2004 when he moved to Salem, SD.
On September 1, 2007, Harley married Theresa Hoffman and they owned and operated the Cookie Jar Café and Café 81 in Salem, SD together. He also worked for Iron Wheel in Salem for many years.
Harley is survived by his wife, Theresa Mickelson; his children, Leah (Jamy) Johnson of Thomson, IL, Jeremy (Stephanie) Mickelson of Marlow, NH, Mariah (Tyler) Sattler of Webster, SD, Crystal (Joey) Johnson of Salem, SD and Vanessa (Cody) Schwartz of Parker, SD; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Gordon and Robert; sisters, Darlene, Faye, Mary, Sherri, Jeni and Jean; mother-in-law, Doris Hoffman of Salem, SD and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur and George and sister, baby Betty.
