Grace Entringer, 91, of Colman, SD passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Dells Nursing & Rehab Center, Dell Rapids, SD. Grace was born November 14, 1928 to Leo and Ida (Bricher) Hansen and was the eighth of sixteen children. She graduated from Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Academy in 1947. Grace married Ray Entringer on January 24, 1951 in Dell Rapids; and they lived in Dell Rapids before they moved to a farm five miles north of Colman, SD in 1952. Grace was a farmwife and homemaker, and could often be found in her kitchen making homemade bread, caramel rolls, chocolate chip cookies or a chocolate cake from scratch. If not cooking or baking, Grace could be found at her sewing machine. Grace loved being outside and tending her garden and her flowers. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports and was a very proud Colman A’s fan. Her husband preceded her in death on October 31, 2019. Grace was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, a CCD teacher and coordinator for many years and a member of the Jefferson Extension Club. Grace taught many lessons from her kitchen or while sitting on the back step of their home to her children, grandchildren and others who would come to call her “Grandma Grace”. Grace’s faith was most important to her; especially the Blessed Mother. There was always a rosary seen somewhere around. Grace and Ray served God well in raising the six children He put in their care.

Grace is survived by her five children: Pat (Roger) Nelson, Lake Norden; Pete (Julie) Entringer, Colman; Carol Tjarks, Flandreau; Sandi (Mike) Lovro, and Doug Entringer, both of Colman; daughter-in-law Pat Entringer, Colman; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Tom, Terry and David, and three sisters Karli, Erma and Darlene. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Ray, one son Mike, her daughter-in-law Sandy, five brothers Magnus, Harold, Swede, Dee and Duane, and 4 sisters Rosie, Maryette, Fern and Bette.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, February 3, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 – 2:30 pm Sunday at St. Peter Catholic Church with a 2:30 pm prayer service.
