Gloria Ebdrup

Gloria Ebdrup, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Home.

Funeral service will be 11 AM on Saturday, June 29th at Lake Madison Lutheran Church with Rev. Phillip Hofinga officiating.  Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Friday at Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel and will continue on Saturday one hour prior at the church.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Online guestbook is at  Arrangements are entrusted with Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel of Madison.  Gloria’s wishes were that anybody who comes to the visitation and funeral dress casual & comfortable.

Gloria Ann Meyer was born on April 17, 1943 in Madison, SD, to John “Jack” Meyer & Marcella (Hyland) Meyer.  Gloria attended Madison High School and Stewarts School of Hairstyling.  She married Floyd Ebdrup in 1966 and they made their home in Wentworth, SD.

Gloria held many employment positions in her life, but most people will remember her as the long-time bank teller at Dakota State Bank in Wentworth.  Gloria loved that job and the conversations with all the customers.

She has several hobbies, she enjoyed embroidery work, attending all her grandson’s many activities and she loved to shop, there is not a flea market or antique shop in the tri-state area that Gloria had not frequented. As a proud mom and grandma, she valued her family and enjoyed all holidays and anytime she got to spent with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

Gloria is survived by her one son Brad (Roxie) of Madison; grandson, Alex (Oliva Boulet) of Colorado Springs, CO, Kyle (Shari) of Madison, SD, Randy (Jayda Farlee) of Rapid City, SD; two great-granddaughters, Addisyn and Amelia of Brookings, SD; one great-grandson, Kashton of Rapid City, SD and one great-grandson arriving in November 2024; one sister, Lois (Eugene) Panning of Hamburg, MN, and one brother, David (Mindee) Meyer of Madison, SD and several nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Floyd; father, John “Jack” Meyer, mother, Marcella (Hyland) Meyer Alverson; stepfather, Bernard Alverson and one brother, Edwin Meyer.
