Doris Haupt, 91, of Lennox and formerly of Spencer passed away at Good Samaritan in Lennox.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 28 at Christ Lutheran in Salem.  Visitation will begin at 10 am.  Masks will be required and social distancing practices will be followed.

Doris Schuttler was born November 18, 1929 near Farmer, SD.  She grew up near Farmer and attended school there.  On September 27, 1945 she married Elmer Haupt at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Canova, SD.  They lived on a farm near Spencer for 70 years until health conditions led them to seek alternative living assistance.  She lived at Good Samaritan in Lennox the remainder of her life.  Elmer passed away in 2016.

Doris was an active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Spencer until it was taken by the tornado.  They then joined Christ Lutheran in Salem.  She and Elmer enjoyed dancing at the Moose Lodge and traveling throughout the US and several countries.

Doris is survived by:  her children; Joanne Fowler of Azle, TX, Linda (Don) Conway, Jacksonville, FL, Carol (Mike) Amo, Park Rapids, MN and Cory (Bonnie) Haupt, Tea, SD; seven grandchildren, Bryon (Sheila) Amo, Drew Amo, Heather (Neil) Hammond, Chris Conway, Wade (Jenna) Haupt, Mya Haupt and Marisa Haupt, four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Doug Haupt, three siblings, Harlen (Phyllis) Schuttler, Irene (Clarence) Yost and Reynold (Louila) Schuttler.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl. 17, Chicago, IL  60601) in Doris’ name.
