Doris (Schneider) Bjorkman passed away Sunday April 26th 2020 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, Minnesota.  Doris was born on December 17th, 1929 to Rudolph and Louisa Schneider.   Doris spent her early years in Bridgewater South Dakota until the family moved to a farm in rural Ramona.  She met her future husband Donald Bjorkman and they were married at the Oldham Lutheran church in 1951.  They lived on a farm in rural Oldham until 1964 when they moved to Arlington.  In 1967 the family moved to Jackson Minnesota where they resided for many years.  In 2003 Don and Doris returned to Arlington to spend their retirement years near family and friends.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was involved with her faith at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson Minnesota and Trinity Lutheran in Arlington.  She always enjoyed visits from family and friends and was ready with coffee and treats for anyone who would pass through her doors.  Doris enjoyed crocheting and needle point and shared her work with family and friends.

Survivors include son, Jeff (Sandy) Bjorkman of Park Rapid, MN; daughter, Jayne (Kit) Johnston of Chatfield, MN; 4 grandchildren, Kyle (Hanna) Bjorkman of Litchfield, MN; Jessica (Jayme) Olson of Moorhead, MN, Hunter and Chase Johnston of Chatfield, MN; 5 greatgrandchildren, Josie, Mila and Soren Bjorkman of Litchfield, MN; Brooke and Hailey Olson of Moorhead, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; infant son, Lewis; four brothers, Alvin, Alfred, Dale and Leo Schneider; three sisters, Edna Sievers, Linda Bickett and Wilma Abrahamson.

Due to these unprecedented times there will be a service for immediate family only at the Johnson Henry funeral home in Arlington and then burial at the Oldham Lutheran Cemetery.
