Daniel Robert Larson was born May 6, 1966 in Colombia Heights, Minnesota. He attended Colombia Heights High School and graduated in 1984. Following graduation, he worked with his father at Contract Courier. Daniel attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a civil engineering degree.
In December of 1991 he married Renee Thompson and had three children from that union.
In 2009 Dan was proud of an entrepreneurial endeavor he started which was buying gold and silver through a business he named Gold Rush. He had been a “gold bug” from a very young age.
On June 21, 2015 Daniel married Rochelle Warner. They lived near Canistota for less than one year before Daniel’s untimely death. At the time of his death, Daniel was working for VanBuskirk Companies in Sioux Falls, SD as a civil engineer.
Dan loved being involved with youth sports. Watching his children play hockey was one of his greatest pleasures. Dan also loved to hike and canoe. He was an avid reader of history, geopolitics, and religion. Being outside working on his acreage held the greatest satisfaction to him.
On Sunday April 5th, 2020 Daniel, age 53, passed away suddenly while working on his acreage. He is survived by his wife Rochelle, three children Zachary Larson (Miranda Smith) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kathryn Larson of Roseville, Minnesota, and Isabel Larson of Roseville, Minnesota, his mother Jane Larson (Joe Royer) of Fridley, Minnesota, sister Jackie Larson of St. Anthony, Minnesota, and brother Tom Larson (Christy) of Anoka, Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Larson.
A private grave side committal service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Hartford, SD will be held for Daniel Saturday April 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
