Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Connie was born August 9, 1947 to Victor “Pat” and Nellie King in Lake County, SD. She was raised on a farm just South of Carthage until she graduated from Fedora High School. From there she moved around and stayed with various relatives like her brother Lyle and wife Jane and later her cousin Rosie and husband Tom Brace until she married Jerry Hodges.

Connie married Jerry on August 12, 1967, in Howard, SD, where they raised their family and cared not only for their own children but many others as well. Connie was everyone’s “MOM”. Connie worked from home starting in 1971, caring for many children followed by their children and so on until she retired 2015. She cared for these children for 44 years. She loved seeing all of them return and visit especially during Halloween. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and especially playing Poker on the farm with all her siblings and their children. As the years went on she enjoyed going to the casino with her sisters, planning that Girls trip with her sisters and their daughters, playing cards with her grandchildren and just being with family. Family was very important to Connie. Connie will always be remembered for some of the most amazing oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that she would make for all of the grandkids upon their request and gathering with her sisters to make Grandma Nellie’s donuts.

Those that are grateful for sharing her life include her husband Jerry, their children David (Corinne), Brad (Michele), Vickie (Kelly) and Jessica. She was also blessed with many grandchildren Taylor (Kylie), Cole (Kaitlyn), Noah, Lane, Amanda (Nick), Brooklynn (Zane), Jarred, Juliana, Caleb, Christen, Hunter and Josie and four great grandchildren Eva, Declan, Wyatt and Gracelynn. Also surviving Connie are her brother Lyle, sisters Lillie (Dan), Peggy (Craig) and Patty (Tom); and many nieces, and nephews that were very close to her heart.

Preceding Connie in death were her father Pat and mother Nellie, father in law Harlan and mother in law Josephine, brother Gary and sister-in-law Jane.

Connie was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there when you needed her no matter the time of day. She was the constant in our lives. She will forever be missed by all.
