Caroline Ann Namken,80 of Watertown, SD died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at her home in Watertown.

Caroline Ann Smith was born on November 6, 1939 at Clark, SD to Delmer and Elsie (Peterson) Smith.  She attended school in Clark and graduated from Clark High School in 1958.  Caroline married Larry Namken on October 29, 1959.  They lived and raised their family in Hamlin County.

She worked at Smith Equipment for 20 years as a Regional Customer Service Representative, Wal-Mart for 4 years and a number of other occupations including bus driver, server, bartender and softball coach.  Caroline enjoyed riding horse, crafting, painting ceramics, golfing, bowling, playing pool and darts.

Loved most for her quick wit and sense of humor, her cooking, especially her potato and macaroni salad.  Kind, caring, thoughtful, loved giving gifts and Christmas ornaments.

She is survived by her husband, Larry of Watertown, her children, Calley (Chuck) Lusk of Vienna, SD, Kevin (Laurie) Namken of Watertown, SD, Kyle (Karla) Namken of Lake Norden, SD, Cara Meyer and James Moss of Badger, SD, Kent (Vanessa) Namken of Hazel, SD, Keith (Dana) Namken of Watertown, SD and Kerry (Stephanie) Namken of Casper, WY and her siblings, Beverly (Mike) Connor, Minneapolis, MN, Patricia (Frank) Kitterman of Watertown, SD, Dale (June) Smith of Brandon, SD and Marshall (Cheryl) Smith of Wakonda, SD, 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Elsie Smith, two sisters, Geraldine and Doreen. Her in laws, Otto and Ellen Namken and numerous other loved ones.

Memorial services for Caroline will be at 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Lake Norden Community Center in Lake Norden with Pastor Randy Eisenbeisz officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before services at the community center.  The Johnson-Henry Funeral Home of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
