Two women drowned on Lake Henry during Wednesday storms
Two women died Wednesday on Lake Henry, when strong winds from a thunderstorm overturned they’re personal flotation devices.
The Lake Preston Fire Department and the Kingsbury County Sheriff’s Office were out storm watching on Wednesday when they received a call requesting assistance for a female victim who was found on the shore of Lake Henry. A second victim was then located on the shore near her. CPR was performed and they were transported to the hospital where both females were pronounced dead. It is believed they were in the lake on their personal flotation devices when the wind picked up and they were overcome by the waves. At this time it’s not believed that life jackets were used.
Names of the victims are not being released at this time. The Kingsbury Sheriff says both women were visiting from out of state.
