Madison Police Warn of Vehicle Break-ins

In a social media post, the Madison Police Department says they have received multiple reports of vehicles being broken into in Madison in the past week and over the weekend.

The post says people should remember to remove all valuables from your vehicles when they are unattended and lock all vehicle doors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says vehicle theft is a multi-billion-dollar crime, costing vehicle owners more than $8 billion each year. Summers prove to be the worst season for vehicle theft.

You can report suspicious activity by calling the Madison Police Department at (605) 256-7531.
