Madison Police ask for help with roaming dogs

The city of Madison Police Department says they have been seeing a considerable increase in reports of dogs running at large recently. A majority of these reports have been related to Pitbulls.

In a social media post, the department reminded the public of a City Ordinance regarding dogs. That ordinance says it shall be unlawful for any person to permit or allow a dog to run at large within the City. All dogs shall be restrained in such a manner so they cannot run at large.

Violations of this ordinance may result in a fine of $118.50 and an impoundment fee.
