Madison City Commission holds regular meeting tonight at 5:30

The Madison City Commission will review a number of requests from non-profit organizations, as part of their next regular meeting today. The requests come from 12 different non-profits, and include both the Lake Area Improvement Corporation, and the LAIC’s- Forward Madison Campaign.

The Commission will also consider approval of the Dakota Mainstem Regional Water System membership dues. Dakota Mainstem recently organized as a regional water system. The vision for Dakota Mainstream is to supply water from the Missouri River to various communities in eastern South Dakota. The system is in its very early stages of planning and discussion. Membership dues for 2024 are $1,578 for the City of Madison. Dues in 2025 are estimated to be $4,734.

Other items for commission approval today is the 2nd reading of a rezoning ordinance that  reclassifies the property planned for Kwik Trip from Single Family Residential to Highway Business. Commissioners will also review bids for the reconstruction of the steps and ramps at the Madison Public Library. 

The City Commission meeting begins at 5:30 this afternoon, in the commission room of Madison City Hall.
