Madison Central Preparing for the Start of a New School Year

As the Madison Central School District prepares for the new school year, a number of teachers are also preparing for their first year in the district. At Monday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Joel Jorgenson gave a rundown of all the new teachers this year for Madison Central.

Jorgenson said the district is fully staffed for the start of the year, with the exception that they could use more bus drivers. He also added that the administration is still reviewing plans from JLG Engineering for possibly building renovations, and will have a proposal to the board in September.

Today is the final day of in-service for teachers. Open houses will be held for students Thursday and Friday, with the first day of school on Tuesday, August 20th. Students will have an early release on August 27th for the DSU Kick-Off celebration, and an early release on August 30th for Labor Day.

Also Monday, the board approved providing free meals to students on August 20th, and a bus agreement with the Howard School District. Howard will send a bus to pickup and drop off students at Twin Lakes Animal Clinic.
