Lake Herman State Park dealing with flooding

Lake Herman State Park is alerting visitors that the park is continuing to experience high waters, as Lake Herman was continuing to rise on Monday. The park asks everyone to exercise caution if you’re planning to visit or currently staying at the park.

There is a few inches of water over the park entrance road. Within the park, the road near the lower campground has 7 inches of water over it. No campers had to be evacuated during the flooding, although there is standing water throughout the lower campground.

Staff is monitoring water levels at this time, with the hope that Lake Herman will peak sometime either overnight or this afternoon.
