Lake County commissioners win re-election, Reisch and Walburg to serve in house

Voters in Lake County have re-elected three current county commissioners. Incumbents Deb Reinicke, Adam Leighton, and Dennis Slaughter were the top three vote getters in Tuesday’s election. Leighton received 3,509 votes, Slaughter 3,263, and Reinicke 3,199 votes. Democratic Charlie Johnson received 2,514 votes. 

Also Tuesday, voters in District 8 elected Tim Reisch and Tim Walburg to serve two year terms in the South Dakota House of Representatives. Walburg received 9,282 votes, and Reisch 8,953. Libertarian Greg Zimmerman received 1,958 total votes in the district.  

Lake County voted No on all but one ballot measure. 55 percent of the county voted Yes on Constitutional Amendment F, while the majority voted No on Amendments E, G, and H, as well as Initiated Measures 28 and 29, and Referred Law 21.
