Groundbreaking for Early Learning Center will be Oct. 22nd

Brooke Rollag of the Lake Area Improvement Corporation gave an update to Madison City Commissions Monday, sharing the progress of the Madison Early Learning Center. Rollag said

bids came in very close to the cost estimate. She says the project also recently received a USDA Rural Development loan. That loan, which was obtained via Heartland Energy, is a 10 year 0% loan with a 1% annual fee.

The Early Learning Center is a collaborative effort between LAIC and EmBe, an

organization committed to empowering children and families. This facility will provide childcare and early education services. It will feature seven classrooms, an outdoor play area, as well as common spaces. The center will be able to serve up to 140 children, infant to school aged.

Rollag says a groundbreaking ceremony is being planned for Oct 22nd at 4pm.
