Friday COVID-19 Update: 33 Deaths In State; Five Positive Cases In Lake County
The state Department of Health is reporting another 33 COVID-19 deaths today, bringing the state’s overall total number of virus-related deaths to 1210. One of the deaths is from Miner County. The state also reports 945 new positive COVID-19 cases statewide today. There are currently 15-thousand-622 active cases in the state and 467 people are hospitalized because of the virus.
Lake County reports another five positive COVID-19 cases, along with 17 recovered cases. The county’s totals include 929 positive coronavirus cases, 774 recovered cases, and 12 deaths. Lake County’s active COVID-19 cases decreased today to 143.
Area counties also saw their number of active cases go down in numbers updated today by the state Department of Health. Moody County now has 102 active COVID-19 cases, McCook County has 98, and Kingsbury County reports 80 active cases. Miner County has 32 active COVID-19 cases as of today, and Brookings County has 401.
