County Commission Starts Budget Process for 2025
The Lake County Commission started its work on the county’s budget for the next year during its meeting this week. Commissioners heard budget requests from all of the county’s departments during Wednesday’s meeting.
As part of the budget requests, new Lake County State’s Attorney Aaron McGowan said his office is requesting an additional 4-thousand dollars for Professional Services, from what they had budgeted a year ago. McGowan said while the numbers are difficult to predict, he anticipated some additional expenses as his office expects more jury trials in the county.
Buildings and Grounds Superintendent David Hare is requesting an additional 32-thousand dollars for building repairs and maintenance. He says there are two large projects that need to be completed.
County Commissioners will continue work on the 2025 budget at their next meeting on Tuesday.
