County Approves Provisional Budget
The Lake County Commission has approved the county’s provisional budget for fiscal year 2025. Commissioners approved the just more than ten-point-four-million dollar provisional budget during their regular meeting on Tuesday.
The budget is roughly 1.2 million dollars larger than the 2024 budget. The largest single increase in funding for the road and bridge fund, which is set to receive 629,557-dollars more than the 2024 budget. The bulk of that increase will be for an overlay project.
As part of budget cuts a year ago, no money was included in the 2024 budget for overlay projects. While the road and bridge fund is up from a year ago, totaling just over 2.8-million dollars, it remains down significantly from the 3.7-million dollars allocated in the counties 2022 budget.
Final adoption of the county’s Fiscal Year 2025 budget will take place at the commission’s next regular meeting on September 17th.
