Construction between Round and Brant Lakes nearing completion
The Lake County Commission heard from Matthew Buenger from Banner and Associates, during their meeting on Tuesday. Buenger gave an update on the installation of a new box culvert on 462nd Avenue between Round Lake and Brant Lake.
The contractor for the project, Nolz Dragline & Construction, had asked the commission for an alternative to the original apron plan, after working through high water conditions this summer. For safety reasons, Nolz is now installing riprap in the inlet apron area, at the same depth as the outlet apron.
Buenger says they are nearing the end of that process.
The commission also received a report on an 87 year old bridge just south of Madison. The 3-span continuous concrete slab bridge is part of 234th street over Silver Creek. The bridge is on a 1-year inspection cycle because it is classified as “Scour Critical”. Buenger said the structure is in “fair” condition, and does not require load postings.
