Chester Area Girls take Class B Softball Championship

Chester Area won the Class B Softball state championship this weekend. The Flyers avenged their only loss of the season on Friday, beating Alcester-Hudson 10-4. That set up a title game against the defending champion and #1 seed Castlewood. 

Both teams scored a run in the 1st, then the Flyers started to break it open with a 5 run 2nd. Castlewood would never get closer than three runs, as the Flyers won the title game 19-8.

Alexis Bauman had 3 hits and 5 RBI for the Flyers. Jaci Wolf scored five runs, and Makaylyn Borecky added 3 RBI. Luaren Roberts had 4 hits, including a pair of triples. She also went the distance on the mound, striking out 11 over 7 innings. Every Flyer batter had at least one hit.
