Another 911 outage over night in South Dakota

Parts of South Dakota experienced another interruption to 911 service on Tuesday night. Several police and fire departments, including the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, took to social media to notify the public that 911 was down statewide. Residents in Lake County also received a Public Safety Alert at approximately 10:30pm.

Wireless 911 service was down throughout much of the state, however landline calls were going through, as well as texts to 911.

Service appeared to have been fully restored before midnight on Tuesday.

A similar outage happened in April.
