Aberdeen man sentenced for destroying his apartment
An Aberdeen man will serve 30 days in the Lake County Jail, after entering a guilty plea to causing intentional damage to property. Steven Charles Schiel was arrested on April 13th of 2024, after police were called to his apartment at the Union Place Rentals. Officers say he had been drinking and destroyed several things in the apartment, including doors and sheet rock.
Circuit Judge Patrick Pardy ordered Schiel to serve 4 years in the state penitentiary, but suspended that time based on several conditions. Some of those include that Schiel pay restitution of $4,055, and serve 30 days in jail.
