Hosting the Tanagers of Vermillion on Tuesday night in Dak-12 Girls Basketball, the Madison Lady Bulldogs found themselves 10 points short in a 56-46 loss. The two sides exchanged buckets throughout the first quarter and early into the second. With the game tied at 17, Vermillion used a 9-0 run to take control of the contest. Madison answered with a quick 6-0 run to pull within three before a late three-pointer gave the Tanagers a six-point lead at halftime.

Vermillion came out and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 19-6 in the third quarter and had a lead of 21 points in the second half before the late surge by Madison. Both teams shot 45 percent in the game, but the big difference was Vermillion outscoring Madison 24-11 in points off turnovers. Abby Brooks had a game high 22 points and Zoey Gerry contributed 15. Madison’s Thursday game versus Flandreau has been postponed to February 8th, so the next game for the Lady Bulldogs is on Saturday evening versus Howard at the DSU Classic.
