Smith and Maxwell lead the way at Tea Invite

Madison athletes had a number of Top 5 finishes on Tuesday at the Tea Invitational. Trey Smith and Bella Maxwell each had first place performances in the Field events for the Bulldogs. Smith took 1st in the discus and added a 4th place throw in the shot put. Maxwell took the girls shot put title and added a 3rd place finish in the discus. 

Audrey Nelson took 2nd place in the girls high jump, with Ella Peterrenis adding a 3rd place performance in the pole vault. In other field events, Aaron Hawkes was 2nd in the pole vault, Kadin Hanscom 3rd in the long jump, and Ben Brooks 5th in the triple jump. 

On the track the Madison boys 4×200 relay team took 2nd place, and the 4×100 meter team grabbed 4th. Bruce Galde and Kadin Hanscom took 4th and 5th place respectively in the 100 meter dash. Galde added a 4th place finish in the 200, while Nate Ricke was 5th. Mickale Dohrer and Braden Keller took 4th and 5th in the 800 meter run. 

Madison will travel to Yankton on Thursday to take part in the First Dakota Relays.
