The Madison Bulldogs had one more thrilling match left in the 2019 season, as they wrapped up the Class A state tournament with a five set win over Winner on Saturday. Playing in the 5th place “Consolation Championship” match, the Bulldogs surrendered the first two sets, both by scores of 25-20.

Facing their second loss of the tournament, Madison built up a lead in set three, and hung on for a 25-23 win. The Bulldogs cruised to a 25-16 win in the fourth set, then finished off the comeback with a 15-12 victory in set five. 

Abby Brooks led the Bulldogs with 20 kills and 3 blocks. Morgan Anderson and Kendra Leighton each had 27 digs. Grace Nelson recorded a triple-double, with 15 kills, 30 assists, and 10 digs. Nelson was also named to the Class “A” All-Tournament team. 

Madison finished their season with a record of 25-9.
