MHS Girls Comeback Attempt Falls Short in Beresford

The Madison girls basketball team fell short in the 4th quarter on Monday night, falling on the road to Beresford 43-29. Madison took an early lead in the game, thanks to an aggressive defense. The Lady Bulldogs were up 8-3 after the 1st quarter, but trailed 18-12 at halftime.

Beresford pushed their lead up to double digits in 3rd quarter, before Madison battled back and closed the deficit to just four points midway through the final quarter. But a series of Bulldog turnovers in the final minutes helped the Watchdogs pull away for the win.

Zoey Gerry led Madison with 18 points. Harley Koth had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Beresford. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 2-8 on the season, while Beresford improved to 53. The Lady Bulldogs will be back at home on Friday night to take on Sioux Falls Christian.
