Madison Volleyball wins 5-set match in Milbank

After falling to Tea Area on Monday, the Madison Bulldog volleyball team traveled to Milbank on Tuesday and picked up a 5 set win over the Milbank Bulldogs. Milbank narrowly took the opening set 26-24, with Madison winning set two 25-19. Milbank then put Madison on the brink of defeat by winning the third set 25-22. Madison stayed alive with a 25-21 win in the 4th set, to force a decisive fifth set, which Madison won 15-12.

Karley Theede had 57 assists in the Madison win. Lydia Nelson had a match high 25 kills. Jaya Engles added 16 kills with 20 digs. Ella Malone finished with 8 kills, 4 aces and 4 blocks. 

The win for Madison was their 5 in the last 7 matches, as the Bulldogs improved to 7-10 on the season. Milbank fell to 11-11. 

Madison will face maybe their biggest challenge of the season on Thursday, when they travel to to take on the #1 team in Class B, the Chester Area Flyers. Chester is 22-2 and has not lost to a South Dakota School yet this season. 

This Saturday Madison will be in Vermillion for the Dak XII Conference Tournament.
