Madison Track & Field Team Competed in Region 5A Track & Field Meet

The Madison Track & Field team competed in the Region 5A Track & Field Meet in Parkston yesterday. In team finishes, the girls finished first with 146 points and the boys finished runner-up, totaling 130 points. 

The girls team started off with a second place finish in the 100-meter dash from Izzy Gors. Ellie Keller finished first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:58.16 and Abby Brooks crossed the finish line first in the 100-meter hurdles 16.16 seconds. The Bulldogs took first or second place in the four relay events. Madison saw a first and second place finish in pole vault, with Kylie Krusemark in first place and Ella Peterreins in second. Julianna Hodges placed first in Shot Put.

The boys team had first place in three events: long jump with Kadin Hanscome, discus throw with Trey Smith, and the 4 x 100-meter relay with Bruce Galde, Sutton Bern, Truman Stoller, and Hanscome at 45.76 seconds. Aspen Dahl was the runner-up in high jump at 5-09 and Sam Olson and Aaron Hawkes finished second and third in pole vault. 

Next for the Bulldogs will be the SDHSAA Class A State Track & Field Meet at Spearfish on May 28 and 29.
