Madison Track & Field team competed in  O’ Gorman Invitation and Howard Wood Relays

The Madison Track & Field team competed in back to back meets on Friday and Saturday.  Friday at the O’ Gorman Invitation and Saturday at the Howard Wood Relays.  According to Coach Unterbrunner during the two days of competition individuals and relays improved on their times and distances.

On Friday for the girls, Izzy Gors had a 3rd place finish in the 100 m dash.  Ellie Keller and Kate Comes placed 3rd and 4th in the 800 m run.  Jessie Tappe had a 1st place finish in the 1600 m run.  Abby Brooks placed first in both the 100 m and 300 m hurdles.  The 400 m relay came in 3rd and the 800 m relay placed 2nd.  In the field events, Kylie Krusemark had a 3rd place finish and in the shot put Juliana Hodges placed first with a throw of 38 feet 6 inches.  

On the boys side, in the 100 m dash Kadin Hanscom and Bruce Galde came in 3rd and 4th.  Braedon Keller had a 1st place finish in the 800 meter run.  Peyton Wolf had a 4th place finish in the 110 hurdles and came away with 1st place in the 300 m hurdles.   The 400 m relay time of Bruce Galde, Sutton Bern, Mike Peters and Kadin Hanscome finished 1st.  The 800 m relay team also finished first.  That team included Galde, Hanscom, Nate Ricke and Aspen Dahl.  The Medley relay team placed 2nd.  

In the field events, Kadin Hanscom placed 3rd in the long jump with Aaron Hawkes placing 3rd in the pole vault.

At the Howard Wood Relays, the Girls 4×200 placed 8th and Kylie Krusemark tied for 8th in the pole vault.

This week the MHS Track team will have back to back meets again.  Thursday they travel to Yankton for the First Dakota Relays and Saturday they will be back in Madison to host the Dan Barker Relays.
