Madison Maroon Falls In Opening Action Of 16U Region 1 Tournament

The Madison Maroon baseball team suffered its first loss of the summer, a 9-6 setback to Lennox in opening action of the 16U Region 1A Tournament. Lennox plated four runs in the bottom of the second inning, chasing Madison starter Nathan Ricke. Maroon would answer with three of their own in the fourth inning, but Lennox answered with another four spot in the bottom of the fifth. Lennox only had four hits in the game but took advantage of 10 walks issued by Madison pitchers. Logan Albee drove in a pair of runs and Joe Gors crossed the plate twice to lead the Maroon offense.

In the other game from the region tournament, Tri-Valley blanked Chancellor 15-0. Madison Maroon will face Chancellor in an elimination game while Lennox and Tri-Valley square off this evening.

Meanwhile, Madison Black is gearing up for the Region 2A Tournament, with games being held in Volga. Madison Black takes on Dell Rapids and Milbank faces Volga today.
