Madison Looks to Diversify the Running Game in 2024
As the Madison Bulldog football team prepares for the 2024 season one key area they will be looking to build on is their running game. The Bulldogs averaged just 87 yards per game on the ground last year. That was significantly less than the year before, when they averaged over 136 yards per game.Â
The bulk of Madison’s ground game in 2023 came from quarterback Ben Brooks, with limited production from the running back position. With Brooks expected to see more time as a receiver this year, head coach Joe Bundy says they’re looking at new ways to improve the running attack.Â
Quarterbacks leading the way on the ground has been the norm over the past several years. The last running back to lead Madison in rushing attempts was Trey Smith in 2019.Â
The Bulldogs will open the season Aug. 30th, at home, against Belle Fourche.
