The Madison girls battled mostly from behind on Tuesday night, but finally broke through in the final minutes for a 52-45 win over the Deubrook Dolphins. The Lady Bulldogs took a five point lead in the 1st quarter, but saw the Dolphins quickly wipe that out, and take a 4 point lead at the end of the quarter. Deubrook forced the Bulldogs into a number of bad turnovers in the 2nd quarter, and led 28-20 at halftime.

That lead grew to 10 points in the 3rd quarter, before Madison responded with a 13-3 run to narrow the gap. The Bulldogs took a brief lead in the 3rd, but trailed 43-41 going to the 4th quarter. In the 4th, it was the Madison defense that took over. The Bulldogs held Deubrook to just two points in the last eight minutes. Morgan Anderson scored back-to-back baskets to put Madison in front for good, and the team hit 8 of 11 free throws to seal the win.

Kendra Leighton finished with 12 points for the Bulldogs. Grace Nelson added 10 points and 8 rebounds. The win snapped a two game losing streak for Madison, and puts their season record at 6-7.

Madison will be back at home on Friday night, hosting the 8-5 West Central Trojans.Â
