Strong defense and big fourth quarter sent the Castlewood Warriors to a 68-41 win over the Madison Lady Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, at the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic. The Bulldogs kept the game tight through the 1st quarter, but cold shooting in the 2nd quarter had Madison down 8 points at halftime. Madison closed the gap early in the 2nd half, but were outscored 25-9 in the 4th quarter.

Madison had no answer for the games MVP, Alayna Benike of Castlewood. The Junior forward finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. MacKenzie Everson added 17 points for the Warriors. Kendra Leighon led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Morgan Anderson added 10, and Briana Steuerwald 7 for Madison.

The Bulldog girls are off now until January 4th, when they will take on Pine Ridge in the Sacred Hoops Classic at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
