Madison Football Drops Third Straight Game

The Madison Bulldogs football team hit the road last night after being home the last two weeks, and dropped their third straight game, losing 14-7 to Dakota Valley.

The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard first on the first place in the second quarter, with Ben Brooks connecting with Shane Veenhoff from 17 yards. Veenhoff had six total catches for 113 yards.

Dakota Valley answered on the next drive with a touchdown of their own, with Sam Faldmo catching one from Ethan Anema, taking it 45 yards.

After a slow start to the second half, Trae Piel caught a pass inside the redzone and ran it up the sideline in the fourth quarter for what would be the game winning touchdown for the Panthers.

Offense for the Bulldogs were unable to take advantage of the situations the defense gave them, especially in the second half where they only gained 58 total yards of offense.

Brooks finished the night with 186 yards passing, while only getting 29 yards on the ground. Bruce Galde led the Bulldogs in rushing, running for 34 yards. Veenhoff’s 113 yards led the night for both teams.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-4 on the season. Madison will stay on the road next week, when they travel down to Canton on Friday, September 30th.
