Madison Boys and Girls Track and Field teams take home first in the Dan Barker Relays

The Madison Boys and Girls Track and Field teams took home first in the Dan Barker Relays on Friday. For the girls, Jessie Tappe and Ellie Keller placed first and second respectively in the 1600-meter run with times of 5:27.89 and 5:48.70. Abby Brooks finished second in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.81 seconds. The team had three second place finishes in the 4 x 100-meter relay, 4 x 200-meter relay, and the 1600 Sprint Medley. Ally Sahr, Keller, Katie Comes and Tappe broke through and took first place in the 4 x 800-meter relay with a time of 10:30.63. Kylie Krusemark placed first in the pole vault and Juliana Hodges grabbed first in the shot put. The Bulldogs also got a first and second place finish from Bella Maxwell and Abby Morse in the discus throw.

For the boys, Bruce Galde took home first in the 100-meter dash, finishing at 12.12 seconds, followed by Aspen Dahl in second place at 12.19 seconds. The Bulldogs earned two more wins in the runs, one with Mike Peters in the 200-meter and another with Mickale Dohrer in the 800-meter. Braeden Keller earned third in the 1600-meter run at 4:59.32. Galde, Sutton Bern, Peters, and Kadin Hanscome placed first in the 4 x 100-meter relay with a finishing time of 46.05. The Bulldogs ended three more relay races all in second place. Elijah Olsen tied for second in the high jump at 5-04. Madison saw four finishes in the top in long jump. In the discus throw, Trey Smith and Colby Vastad secured the top two spots.

Both Boys and Girls teams finished in first in the meet. Madison has their conference meet Thursday, May 13th.
