Madison 16U VFW teams posted a pair of wins over Hamlin on Monday

The Madison Maroon 16U VFW baseball team picked up their first win of the season Monday, with an 11-1 win over Hamlin. Tyler Olson was outstanding on the mound, as struck out 10 and allowed just 1 hit and 1 unearned run. Madison Maroon blew the game open with a six run 4th inning. Levi Nelson scored two runs and had two RBI. Will Seeley also drove in a pair of runs, and the Maroon team improved to 1-1.

The Madison Black 16U VFW team remains undefeated after last nights 14-2 on Hamlin. For Madison Black it was Braylon Oftedal who dominated on the mound, striking out 10 over five innings, while allowing just 3 hits and 12 unearned runs. 

Brennan Bicket hit a three run homer in the 5th, for one of his two hits. Oftedal, Henry Veenhof, and Carter Ahrendt each drove in two runs for Madison. Veenhof and Quinn Flemming each had 3 hits for Madison Black, who are now 3-0 this season. 

The Canova Gang 16U team is still seeking their first win of the year, after a loss last night to Parkston 9-3. Parkston scored six runs in the fourth innings to take control of the game. Conner Endorf, Jack Hohn, and Korbin Shoemaker had the only hits for Canova, as they dropped to 0-3 on the season. 

The Canova 14U team also lost to Parkston by a 9-3 score on Monday. Parkston put up six runs in the 1st inning on their way to the win. Lawden Haak had two hits for Canova in the loss.
